Level 1: Start Class lecture, Lecture covering principles of dog training, equipment, overview of level 2 and group class design. Registration is required prior to attending a start class.
Level 2: Sit and Sit/stay, the down and down/stay, and walking with a loose lead.
Test: Dogs must perform a sit/stay with handlers at the end of a 6ft lead. Handlers must be able to walk all the way around the dog without breaking. Dogs must be able to perform a down/stay at the end of a 6ft lead. Handlers must be able to walk all the way around the dog without breaking. Dogs must show the ability to walk with the handler without causing tension on the lead. Handler must change directions frequently.
Level 3: Sit and sit/stays with added distractions. Down and down/stay with added distractions. Begin adding resistance to stays. Begin recalls with sit fronts. Begin recalls from the length for a flexi. Begin sit from down.
Test: Sit and sit/stay while handler stands on lead. Down and down/stays while handler stands on the lead. Distractions on stays include clapping hands, stomping feet, running at the dog, etc. recall at the end of a six food lead with a sit front. Dog must come, sit, and down without any guidance or corrections.
Level 4: Begin heeling with pace changes, left turns, right turns, about turns, and halts. Begin long distance recalls with sit fronts. Longer sit stays and down stays. Begin stands and ooks
Test: Dogs must heel with loose lead demonstrating a halt and an about turn. Dogs must also show a recall from across the room. Dogs must do a 30 second sit stay and down stay from across the room and stand stay at the end of a six food lead.
Level 5: Begin sit in motion and down in motion. Begin heeling with leash dragging. Resistance stands and resistant ooks. Faster pace change, quick halts and run-out-about turns. Add distractions on recalls.
Test: Dogs must heel with leash dragging showing an about turn, a halt, a sit in motion and down in motion. Dogs must perform an ook and a stand with handler walking around the dog.
Level 6: All exercises in the Alden's kennel test
Test: Alden's Kennel graduation test given the last Saturday of each month.

Ashley O'Byrne attended the prestigious Tom Rose School for professional trainers where she spent 7 months. She attained her Professional and Masters Certificates graduating first in class in both programs. Ashley has worked with hundreds of dogs from competitive working dogs to aggressive dogs. Ashley has the experience and knowledge to train in all phases of AKC obedience, Schutzhund, tracking, search and rescue, narcotics, bomb detection, agility, conformation and more!
Group Classes: 6 months $300
Every Saturday come with your dog and enjoy training in a group setting. Progress though the levels at your own pace. Can't make it one week? No problem! The classes are designed to allow you to miss the occasional Saturday and not fall behind.
Private Lessons/ Competition Training: $70 a session or a block of five for $300
Board and Train : $350 per week.
Have your pet board in our spacious accommodations and receive daily training sessions. We will schedule two free private lessons for you as well, so you know how to effectively communicate with your dog at home. We recommend a minimum of a two week stay for most dogs.
This is an excellent program to give your dog a jump start into training. They will learn good obedience while they are here and we can also address other basic household issues.
